The correct option is C 24×105
Mean life T=40min=40×60s=2400s
So decay constant λ=12400/s
At steady state dNdt(rate of decay) should be equal to rate of production
But rate of decay es equal to Nλ also.
so Nλ=1000/s
So N=1000λ=2400×1000=24×105
Option C is correct.
