We know that,
According to the law of conservation of mass,
Total mass of reactants = total mass of products
Here,
Mass on the reactant side = 300 g
Given,
Mass of CO2 liberated = 174 g
So, from the law of conservation of mass,
300 g = mass of residue + mass of CO2
mass of residue=(300174) g=126 g
