Fraction of children with pens = $\frac{1}{10}$
Fraction of children with pencils = $\frac{4}{5}$
Fraction of children having either a pen or a pencil = $\frac{1}{10}+\frac{4x^2}{5}$
=$\frac{1+8}{10}=\frac{9}{10}$
$\therefore$ Fraction of children who neither have a pen nor a pencil
=$1-\frac{9}{10}=\frac{1}{10}$
Since 10 is a multiple of 5, 10 is the LCM for 5 and 10.
