Find the number of students passed in physics.

Let, P be the number of students who passed in physics and M be the number of students who passed in maths.

Then,
Number of students who passed in physics=n(P)=67
Number of students who passed in maths =n(M)=55

Number of students who passed both physics and maths is given by =n(PM)

We know, n(PM)=n(P)+n(M)n(PM)

Substituting the given values we get,

100=55+67n(PM)n(PM)=122100n(PM)=22

Now, number of students who passed only in physics,

=Number of students passed in physics - Number of students passed in both physics and maths

=67-22=45
