Solution
Total number of student in the class = 35
Number of students like to eat apples n(A)=26
Number of students like to eat oranges n(O)=16
Number of students who like at least one fruit n(A∪O)=35
Number of students who like both n(A∩O)==?
we know that,
n(A∪O)=n(A)+n(O)−n(A∩O)
⇒35=26+16−n(A∩O)
⇒n(A∩O)=42−35
⇒n(A∩O)=7
Hence, total number of students like both oranges and apple is 7
