In a class of 52 students, A, B, C, & D are standing for elections to become the class monitor. The result came out to be as follows:
A won 2 votes
B won 23 votes
C won 5 votes
D won 22 votes

However, the monitor must win a clear majority! The teacher states that two students can form a 'coalition' and then be co-monitors. How many 'coalitions' can be formed in this instance?

For a successful coalition, the sum of votes of the people in the coalition should be more than 26 (52/2=26). So, the combinations which would form successful coalitions are:
