The correct option is D 30
Marks given for one correct answer = 5
So, marks given for 9 correct answers
= 5 × 9 = 45
Marks given for one incorrect answer = – 3
Incorrect answers = 14 – 9 = 5
So, marks for 5 incorrect answers
= (–3) × 5 = –15

Therefore, Alex total score
= 45 + ( –15) = 30
