Given that,
Number of boys in the class $= 30$
Number of girls in the class $= 20$
Strength of the class $=$ Number of boys in the class $+$ Number of girls in the class
$= 30 + 20 = 50$
Ratio of number of girls to the strength of the class $= 20 : 50$
Lowest form of $20 : 50 = \frac{20}{50} = \frac{2}{5} = 2 : 5$ ( Divide both $20$ and $50$ by their HCF $10$ )
Hence, Girls : strength $= 2 : 5$
