The ratio of benches to students will be 26=13, which is the same as 1:3.

Drawing the tape diagram,
One rectangle represents the benches because the ratio is 1:3, which means 1 green rectangle will represent 2 benches and 1 red rectangle represents 2 students.

For 36 students, each rectangle should represent 363 students.

363=3×123

=12 students

Hence, 1 red rectangle represents 12 students.

Similarly, 1 green rectangle will represent 1×12 benches.
