In close- end organ pipe the resonance length is given by:
$l = \frac{(2 n - 1) λ}{4}$ , where $n = 1, 2, 3..$
So, $l_{1} = \frac{(2 n - 1) λ}{4}$ and
$l_{2} = \frac{(2 (n + 1) - 1) λ}{4}$
or, $(l_{2} - l_{1}) = λ / 2$
or, $2 (l_{2} - l_{1}) = λ$ .
