In a colony, there are 2500 houses. Out of which, 300 are vacant. How many houses are occupied?

Total number of houses in a colony =2500

Number of Vacant colony =300

So, Number of occupied colony =ThHTO2500-300

Step 1: Subtract the ones

First subtract ones 0-0=0,

Write 0 under ones column

Step 2: Subtract the tens

Next subtract tens 0-0=0,

Write 0 under tens column

Step 3: subtract the hundreds

Next subtract hundreds 5-3=2,

Write 2 under hundreds column

Step 4 : Subtract the thousands

Next subtract thousands 2-0=2

Write 2under thousands column

So we get,

ThHTO2500-3002200

Hence, the required solution is 2200
