No of octahedral voids in a CCP unit cell
=(14×12)+1=3+1=4
Since, 12 Octahedral voids are present of cube shared by 4 more unit cells and

1. No. of tetrahedral voids in CCP=8 (2 tetrahedral void at each body diagonal ×4 body diagonal) Given: XY2O4 in CCP

X present in Octahedral void and Y equally distributed in Octahedral and tetrahedral void.

Octahedral void occupied =2(1 from x and from y)

fraction of Octahedral void occupied =24=12 so correct answer is (A)1/2 .
