In a cricket match Hari hits 12 'sixes' out of 48 balls he faced. It a ball is selected at random, what is the probability that he would have not hit a "six" for that ball?

Total number of balls Hari faced =48.
Let E be the event of hitting sixes, then the number of favourable events =12.
Then probability of the event of hitting six is P(E)=1248=14.
We know that the probability of a certain (sure) event is 1.
Therefore, the probability that he would not have hit a six is
P(E)=1P(E)=114=34.
