Question

In a ΔABC, if B=60, prove that (a+b+c)(ab+c)=3 ca

Open in App
Solution

Given, B=60o, then cosB=a2+c2b22ac=12 [cosine rule cos60o=1/2]

a2+c2b2=ac ........ (1)

Now, LHS=(a+b+c)(ab+c)

=(a+c)2b2

=a2+c2+2acb2

=ac+2ac

=3ac=RHS [from (1)]

Hence proved
