$DE\parallel BC$ and $\frac{AD}{DB}=\frac{5}{4}$ $,EC=7.2cm$

By Basic Proportionally theorm,

$\frac{AD}{DB}=\frac{AE}{EC}$

$\frac{5}{4}=\frac{AE}{7.2}$

$AE=\frac{5}{4}\times 7.2$

$AE=5\times 1.8$

$AE=9.0cm$

Hence, this is the answer.
