Question

In a Δ ABC, right angled at C and A = B,
Is cosA=cosB ?

Open in App
Solution

We have,

A = B

BC = AC [ Sides opposite to equal angles are equal]
BC = AC = x (say)
Using Pythagoras theorem in Δ ACB, we have

AB2=AC2+BC2
AB2=x2+x2
AB=2x
(i) We have,

cosA=ACAB=x2x=12
cosB=BCAB=x2x=12

cosA=cosB
