In a factory 10 bulbs of 50 watts, each and 5 fans of 70 watts each operate for 12 hours daily. Calculate the units of electricity consumed and also find the total expenditure if 1 unit costs Rs. 2.

Power consumption of 10 bulbs in 12 hours $= 12 h o u r s \times 0.5 k W = 6 u n i t s$
Power consumption of 5 fans in 12 hours $= 12 h o u r s \times 0.350 k W = 4.20 u n i t s$
Total power consumption $= (6 + 4.20) u n i t s$ $= 10.20 u n i t s$
Cost of 1 unit = Rs. 2
Total expenditure $= R s (10.20 \times 2)$ = Rs. 20.40
