In a factory, woman are 35% of all the workers, the rest of the workers being men. The number of men exceeds that of woman by 252. Find the total number of workers in the factory.

Let x be the number of workers in the factory.

If 35% are women, then the remaining are men, which is 65%.

Thus, number of women is 35x100 and number of men is 65x100.

According to the question, the number of men exceeds number of women by 252, then

35x100=65x100+252

30x100=252

Thus,

3x=252×10

x=840.

there are 840 workers in the factory.
