Let $x$ be the number of workers in the factory.

If $35$ % are women, then the remaining are men, which is $65$ %.

Thus, number of women is $\frac{35 x}{100}$ and number of men is $\frac{65 x}{100} .$

According to the question, the number of men exceeds number of women by $252$ , then

$\frac{35 x}{100} =$ $\frac{65 x}{100} + 252$

$\frac{30 x}{100} =$ $252$

Thus,

$3 x = 252 \times 10$

$x = 840.$

$∴$ there are $840$ workers in the factory.
