Solution

The correct option is A 12
Given,
Number of flocks = 3
Number of sheep in each flock = 4
Total number of sheep = ?

We multiply the number of flocks by the number of sheep in each flock to get the total number of sheep 4×3.

To multiply 4 by 3, hop by 4 units 3 times on a number line.
The three hops represent the three shifts of 4 units since there are three flocks. So, we arrived at 12 on a number line.

Total number of sheep = 12
