In a fig, ABCD is a parallelogram, AE perpendicular to DC and CF perpendicular to AD. If AB = 16cm, AE = 8cm and CF = 10cm, find AD.

Given : ABCD is parallelogram. AB = 16 cm, AE = 8 cm, CF = 10

Area of the parallelogram – $base\times height$

Therefore area of parallelogram $ABCD=CD\times AE=AD\times CF$

$16\times 8=AD\times 10[CD=AB=16]$

Opposite sides of a parallelogram

$AD=AD=\frac{16\times 8}{10}=12.8cm$

Thus the length of the side AD = 12.8 cm
