The correct option is A Zero
Given, mass of block (m)=5 kg
Applied force (F)=40 N
By the FBD of the block:
R=5g=50 N

(fs)max=μsR=0.8×50=40 N

Since the external force and frictional force are equal and opposite, the body is at rest.
There is no displacement of the block.
The work done by force of friction is zero. (W=fs=0)

Hence option A is correct.
