Let the fraction be xy
Numerator is increased by 40% and denominator is decreased by 20%.
New numerator =x+40x100=140x100=7x5
New Denominator =y20y100=4y5
New fraction =7x54y5
=7x4y
Thus, the new fraction is more than the initial fraction by =7x4yxy
=7x4x4y
=3x4y
Thus, in percentage = 3x4y×100 %
= 75% more than the initial fraction
