Solution

The correct option is B negatively charged
Galvanic cell is also known as Voltaic cell. It converts the chemical energy liberated during the reaction to electrical energy. The chemical reaction will be a spontaneous reaction.
In a electrochemical cell, the process of oxidation and reduction takes place simultaneously within the system. The metal strip in the cell is known as electrode. These are electrical conductors used to make contact with a non-metallic part of a circuit. The reactive metals have tendency to go into the solution phase, when in contact with their ions or their salt solution will act as anode.
Eg:Zn rod in ZnSO4 solution
Zn atoms will move in the solution to form Zn2+
At equilibrium, accumulation of sufficient negative charge on the rod, will not allow extra zinc ions to move in the solution. Thus, anode become negative charge.
Characteristics of anode:
1. Oxidation takes place at anode
2. It acts as a source of electrons.
3. It has negative polarity.
