(i) Since the digit at the ones place is the same (equals to 4) for all the 5 numbers, we have to compare the tenths place. 4.95 has 9 in the tenths place, which is the largest among the given numbers. Therefore 4.95 is the largest among the 5 numbers and hence Apurva is the winner.
(ii) The second largest digit at the place of tenths is 7 in two numbers 4.77 and 4.775. The tenths place digit and hundredths place digits are the same in numbers 4.77 and 4.775. so compare the thousandths place digits.
