Main parts of an embryo of dicot seed are:
Plumule: Terminal portion of epicotyl which gives rise to shoot system.
Radicle: Terminal portion of hypocotyl which gives rise to root system.
Epicotyl: The portion of embryonal axis which is above the level of cotyledons.
Hypocotyl: The portion of embryonal axis which is below the level of cotyledons.
2 Cotyledons attached to embryonal axis.
Hilum: The scar showing the place where the ovule was attached to placenta.
Micropyle: Opening through which pollen tube enters the ovule.
