Here, initially at t = 0s, the distance from the origin is 5m.
At t = 5s, the ball reaches the origin.
Now,
Average velocity=Total displacementTotal time taken

Total displacement = (0(5))=5 m
Total time taken = 5 sec
Hence,
Average velocity=+55=+1 ms1
