Given that class mark of class 20 - a is 23.5.
Here, Upper limit = a
Lower limit = 20
Class mark = 23.5
$∴$ Class mark = $\frac{Upper limit + Lower limit}{2}$
$\Rightarrow 23.5 = \frac{a + 20}{2}$
$\Rightarrow 47 = a + 20$
$\Rightarrow a = 27$
Hence, the correct answer is option (c).
