Solution

It is given that the temerature recorded at midnight was -2°C.In the next afternoon the temerature raises by 9°C.So the new temerature can be obtained by adding the 9°C to previous temearature reading. That is the tempearature at afternoon in the next day is, -2°C+9°C=-2+9°C=7°CNow at 10 pm, the temearture drops by 11°C.So to find the final temperature, this temearature of 11°C must be subtracted from previous reading of temperature. Thus the current temerature is, 7°C-11°C=7-11°C=-4°C
