In a lever, the fulcrum is at one end of the lever rod of length 120 cm and the load is at the other end. An effort of 30 N is exerted at a distance of 40 cm from the load.Calculate load value?

1.Given data,

The fulcrum is at one end of the lever rod of length = 120 cm

The load is at the other end. An effort of = 30 N

The effort is at a distance of from the load= 40 cm

Hence, the effort arm will be 80 cm because it is the distance between fulcrum and effort.

Hence, the load arm will be 120 cm because it is the distance between the fulcrum and load.

2. To find mechanical advantage

Mechanical advantage= EffortarmLoadarm

Mechanical advantage= 80cm120cm

Mechanical advantage= 0.666

3. To find the load value

Mechanical advantage= LoadEffort

Mechanical advantage= Load30N

0.666=Load30

Load =20 N

Hence, the load value will be 20 N.
