Genetic make up of a child is related to the genetic constitution of the parents. Two methods can be used to determine the identity of the babies as to their parents.
(i) Blood Grouping. In many cases, matching of blood groups of the baby and the parents can give indication of their relationship.
(ii) DNA Finger Printing- Comparison of VNTRs or RFLP of the parents provides fool proof method of determining the relationship.
