Solution
The correct option is D Tip of the pollen tube
As soon as the pollen lands on the surface of the stigma, it gets hydrated and germination occurs. Pollen tube emerges out from the germ pores. The pollen tube comes out from the intine layer. The entire contents of the pollen grain move into the pollen tube. A growing pollen tube shows four zones:
1. Apical zone consisting of vesicles.
2. Sub apical zone consisting of granular cytoplasm and cell organelles.
3. Nuclear zones consisting of a vegetative nucleus and the two sperms or the male gametes.
4. Vacuolization zone that forms a partition to prevent the backflow of the contents into the pollen grain.
Hence, the male gametes are present in the tip of the pollen tube.
