In a neuron, the part known as ______ send signals away from neurons whereas ______ receive signals from other neurons.
Axon, Dendrites
In a neuron or a nerve cell, the impulse travels through the axon towards the axonite. The dendrite of the receiving neuron picks up this impulse which is again transferred to another neuron or a cell. Hence, axon transfers the signal/impulse and the dendrite receives the impulse from other neurons. Synapse is just the junction between two neurons or a neuron and a muscle cell or a neuron and a glandular cell.
