In a parallelogram ABCD, AB = 2x+ 7 , BC = 4x- 5 , CD = 3x- 8 Find the perimeter of the parallelogram

Open in App
Solution

Answer :

Given : ABCD is a parallelogram and AB = 2x + 7 , BC = 4x - 5 and CD = 3x - 8

We know in parallelogram opposite sides are equal in length , So

AB = CD and BC = DA

Then

2x + 7 = 3x - 8

x = 15 , So

AB = 2 ( 15 ) + 7 = 30 + 7 = 37

AB = CD = 37

And

BC = 4 ( 15 ) - 5 = 60 - 5 = 55

So,

BC = DA = 55

We know perimeter of parallelogram = Sum of all four sides , So

Perimeter of parallelogram = 37 + 55 + 37 + 55 = 184 unit ( Ans )
