In a parallelogram ABCD, its diagonals AC and BD intersect each other at point O.
If AC=12cm and BD=9cm; find lengths of OA and OD.

Solution

Diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other.
Hence,
OA=12AC and OA=12AC
It is given that AC=12cm and BD=9cm
So,
OA=12AC=12×12=6cm
And,
OD=12BD=12×9=4.5cm

Therefore, length of OA and OD is 6cm and 4.5cm respectively.
