Area of parallelogram,

$A = b \times h$

Given,

$y^{2} = (y - 3) \times (y + 4)$

$y^{2} = y^{2} - 3 y + 4 y - 12$

$0 = y - 12$

$y = 12$

Area of parallelogram $= y^{2} = 12$ sq.units
