Let number of boys and girls in the family be x and y.
Each boy has as many brothers as sisters.
x1=y
xy=1 (1)
Also, each girl has twice as many brothers as that of sisters.
2(y1)=x
2yx=2 (2)
From (1) and (2), we get
x=4 and y=3
Number of boys and girls in the family are 4 and 3 respectively.
