In a pedicellate flower the pedicel supports the flower . But in a sessile flower the stalk is absent . So what supports a sessile flower ?

In Sessile flowers, the stalk is not present instead flowers and leaves are directly borne from the peduncle (a stem that supports an inflorescence).
