Solution

Prognathism is a positional relationship of the mandible or maxilla to the skeletal base where either of the jaws protrudes and causes inability to speak. An extended (protruding) jaw can be part of a person's normal face shape that is present at birth. It can also be caused by inherited conditions, such as Crouzon syndrome or basal cell nevus syndrome.
