In a proportion the first, second and third terms are 6,18,25 respectively . The fourth term is ……………….. .

Let assume that the fourth term is x.

Now Consider,

6,18,25,xare terms in proportion.

Note : We know that the product of means equals the product of extremes if the given terms are in proportion.

So, 18×25=6×x

Rewrite as,

6×x=18×25

6×x=450

Transpose 6 to the R.H.S

x=4506 ( on dividing 450by6 we get 75 )

x=75.

Hence, the value of xis75.
