Solution

In a Proportion, the second and third terms are called Means.

Lets take two ratios a:band c:d, If they are equal then thy are said to be in proportion i.e represented as a:b::c:d.

Here, 'a'and'd' are called extremes, as they are present on the two ends and 'b'and'c'are called means as they are in the middle positions.

So, the First and Fourth terms are called Extremes, Second and Third terms are called Means.

Hence, the answer for given blank is Means.
