Solution

Team A scores -40, 10, and 0.
Total score = (-40 + 10) + 0 = -30

Team B scores 10, 0, and -40.
Total score = (10 + 0) + (-40) = -30

(i) The difference between the scores of the two teams
= -30 - (-30) = -30 + 30 = 0
Both teams scored same.

(ii)Yes, we can add integers in any order. We had observed that the scores obtained by both teams in successive rounds were numerically equal but were grouped in a different order. Yet, the total score of both teams was equal. It is the associative property of addition of integers.
