When Laxman runs 1800 m, distance that Bharat runs = $\frac{1800\times 1400}{1600}=\frac{6300}{4}=1575m$.

In a race of 2000 m, Ram beats Bharat by (2000 - 1575) = 425 m

In a race of 1200 m, the number of meters by which Ram beats Bharat by = $\frac{1200\times 425}{2000}=255m.$
