In a right triangle ABC,
AB = 5 cm, BC = 12 cm

Using Pythagoras Theorem,
That is,
AC2 = AB2 + BC2
=> AC2 = 52 + 122
=> AC2 = 25 + 144
=> AC2 = 169

=> AC = 13
Thus, the length of side AC = 13cm.
