In a river C is the mid-point between A and B. Hari can row from A to C and return in 8 h and from A to B in 4 h. How long would he take to row from B to A ?

Time taken from $A$ to $B = 4 h$

Time taken from $A$ to $C =$ $\frac{1}{2} \times 4 = 2 h$

Time taken from $C$ to $A =$ $8 - 2 = 6 h$

Time taken from $B$ to $A = 2$ $\times$ Time taken from $C$ to $A$

$= 2 \times 6 = 12 h$
