The correct option is B 14 hours
Speed of the boat in still water = 3kmph
Speed of the stream = 7 kmph
Speed downstream = 3+7 = 10 kmph
Speed upstream = 7 – 3 = 4 kmph
Total journey time = (40km/10kmph) + (40km/4 kmph) = 4hrs + 10hrs = 14 hrs
