In a scheme, a pack of three soaps with MRP Rs.45 is available for Rs.42. If it still gives a profit of 5% to the shopkeeper, then find the cost price of the pack ?

S.P- C.P = profit

S.P = Rs 42.00, C.P= x profit = $\frac{5}{100}x$

$\therefore 42-x=\frac{5x}{100}$

$\Rightarrow 42-x=\frac{1}{20}x\Rightarrow 42=x(1+\frac{1}{20})\Rightarrow \frac{21x}{20}=42$

$\Rightarrow x=2\times 20=40$

Hence C.P of the soap pack = Rs 40
