Solution

  • Chemical digestion is a process involving specific enzymes which acts on specific substrate molecules.
  • Chemical digestion starts in the mouth, continues in stomach and ends in the small intestine.
  • Bottle 1 contains salivary amylase which acts on rice water in test tube A. Rice water contains starch which is acted upon by the enzyme salivary amylase.
  • Bottle 2 contains lipase which acts on ghee in test tube C. Ghee is a source of fats.
  • Bottle 3 contains pepsin which acts on egg white in test tube B. Egg white is a source of proteins.
So the correct match is:
Bottle 1 (Salivary amylase) - Test tube A
Bottle 2 (Lipase) - Test tube C
Bottle 3 (Pepsin) - Test tube B
