Acceleration center of mass, aCM=m1a1+m2a2m1+m2

here, m1a1=F1=16^i and

m2a1=F2=8^j

aCM=16^i+8^j8+8=^i+12^j........(1)

|aCM|=12+(1/2)2=52m/s2

If aCM will make angle θ with x axis, then

aCM=|aCM|(cosθ^i+sinθ^j)...........(2)

Comparing (1) and (2),|aCM|cosθ=1 and |aCM|sinθ=1/2

tanθ=1/2θ=tan1(1/2)
