Tangent galvanometer

for a tangent galvanometer, if deflection $= θ$ , the current reading is given by $i = k tan θ$

where , $k = \frac{2 r B_{H}}{μ_{0} n} =$ reduction factor of

galvanometer $=$ constant

$(n = no. of turns in the coil, r = radius of the coil)$

$i \propto tan θ$

$∴ \frac{i_{1}}{i_{2}} = \frac{tan θ_{1}}{t a n θ_{2}}$

$\Rightarrow \frac{0.1 A}{i_{2}} = \frac{tan 30^{\circ}}{tan 60^{\circ}}$

$\Rightarrow i_{2} = 0.1 \times \sqrt{3} \times \sqrt{3}$

$= 0.3 A$
