In a test, +2 marks are given for each correct answer and ( - 1 ) for each wrong answer. A student has scored 21. If he has attempted total of 12 correct questions. How many questions has he attempted incorrectly ?

Marks given for each correct answer = +2

Marks given for each wrong answer = ( -1 )

Marks obtained by 12 correct questions = 12 × 2 = 24

Marks obtained by student = 21

So, total negative marks = 24 - 21 = 3

So, he has attempted 3 questions incorrectly.
